Maria & Rob's wedding at Warbrook house in Eversley, Hampshire
Photography by Laura at LJ Photographics
Maria, so you chose a Rachel Chaprunne bespoke headpiece, tell us more.
I had a hair trial and she used a couple of hair pieces – a comb and a headband. I really liked how they looked with the hairstyle, but wanted to source them elsewhere, so searched on Etsy. I found Rachel Chaprunne and liked the look of Rachel’s designs. I sent a message to see whether she could create something similar and she was so helpful and friendly, that I decided to get my hair pieces from her. She was very patient with the many messages back and forth to make sure we decided on just the right items! They just looked beautiful on the day – I love how sparkly the headband looked in the photos!
Maria wore an exquisite bespoke pearl and crystal hair comb made with Swarovski crystal & pearl, clear crystal quartz & freshwater pearls with a matching band worn at the front of the hair and made with Swarovski pearl and crystal flowers.
Thank you Maria, I have to say you look absolutely breathtaking and it really was a pleasure to make the perfect headpieces for you.
So to the beginning, tell us all about the romantic proposal?
We were on holiday in Croatia, and went on a day trip to Dubrovnik. We were walking around the city walls, looking at the incredible views, when Rob suddenly went down on one knee! I couldn’t believe what was happening! I was so shocked when he whipped out a ring box that he’d been trying to keep concealed throughout our trip – I’d had no idea! I was so surprised, I forgot to say yes at first!
Tell us about your absolutely stunning dress!
The dress was from a little wedding dress boutique, and was the very first one I tried on! I tried more on in that shop, but kept coming back to that first one. My mum and bridesmaid both loved it too.
How did you choose your colour scheme?
My favourite colour is aqua, so it was my instant choice, with pinky accents and touches of peach in the flowers. That was all my decision – Rob was happy to go with my choice of colours!
Bridesmaids & flower girls?
I only had the one bridesmaid. She went wedding dress shopping with me, to my hair and make-up trail, and organised my hen do. She was also there to help me throughout the day – with toilet trips and all sorts!
The suits were hired – we went to check them out together, but the style was chosen by Rob, with the aqua accents on the best man and fathers coming from my colour scheme choice.
Your venue is fantastic, tell us a little bit about how you chose it and why.
We got married at Warbrook House in Eversley. It was the ninth venue we visited, and finally we’d found the right one! It had everything we needed – we could have the wedding service and reception all in the one location, it was exclusive, and there was accommodation for all our guests. There was plenty of space to stay indoors if it had been a rainy day and we couldn’t go outside. (As it was, the weather was perfect!) We also just loved the feel of the place – it felt right.
The ceremony
We had a civil ceremony, I felt a bit nervous before I stepped onto the aisle, but my nerves went as I walked down towards Rob. I felt so happy throughout the ceremony!
Tell us about your super talented photographer!
The photographs were taken by Laura of LJ Photographics, who was such an asset on the day – looking after us and helping out all day, as well as taking beautiful photos!

Who made your wonderful cake?
This was made by a friend of mine who makes cakes for a hobby. She did an incredible job – the cake was stunning. It was a modern design, with the most intricate handmade flowers to match the flowers in the centre pieces. Beautiful – and it tasted delicious!
Did you have a theme or style in mind?
I guess the style was ‘pretty’ with touches of ‘rustic’. We had the centre pieces in jam jars on slices of wood. I made a table plan using a crate, with mini pegs holding each table list onto pretty ribbons.
The entertainment looked lively!
We went for a band called The Nameless Three who we found on Alive Network. They were amazing!! We absolutely loved them, they got everyone up dancing!
Partying into the night!!
What is your happiest memory from such a magical day?
Saying our vows and becoming husband and wife!
Maria and Rob, it has been an absolute pleasure to share your perfect wedding day on my blog. A huge congratulations and wishing you a lifetime filled with love, laughter and happiness!
